Lancaster, PA — This evening Matt Johnson announced his campaign for Lancaster’s City Council at a public event held at Tellus360.
A long-time (until recently) resident of the Cabbage Hill neighborhood, Matt has been an active member of the Lancaster Community for 15 years. His work as an educator and advocate have made him known for his thoughtfulness and appreciation of everything Lancaster.
“At the end of the day, I firmly believe that politics is the art of priorities. In a world of limited resources, time, and energy, politics isn’t about what you can promise, but what you’ll prioritize. Campaign promises make fools of those who make them, but I can tell you where my energies will be spent—where my heart will be and what my priorities for this city are” said Johnson.
Running on a progressive platform of fostering safe, prosperous neighborhoods and support of all members of our community regardless of country of origin, race, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, or gender expression.
“I love Lancaster, but what I love ever more is the place that it can become. I humbly ask for you to help me and the other amazing, young, energetic people who have declared their candidacy for office, to bring about this vision” Johnson said as he announced his candidacy.
Matt Johnson, 34, his wife, Jill, and his stepson Lucas have called Mulberry Street home for two years.
